Great New Stuff
A number of wonderful new stuff going on in the area. “The Gathering Place” also known as the Laudramat in La Veta, is closed today through Monday ONLY to install new dryers and several OVERSIZE washers. Great enhancement. Wonderful new improvements like WiFi and a peace-full place. And recently they have a new companion business- The Ladies. These two ladies will do ‘fluff and fold’ drop-off laundry and ironing. OK all you seasonal folks, takeĀ a vacation from laundry! 903 Oak, across from Dr. Cluff’s office and next to the old Pub N’ Grub/Blue Rooster.
Still no specifics on the ’sale’ of the Blue Rooster. Rumors still swirling that it will open in April.
And, talking to the Carol Houk, co-owner of the new bistro-brewery, have somewhat of a timeline. Have to get approval from La Veta Town Board for liquor license, with a wait or about 45-60 days. If they get that, they plan to move ahead to open the bistro, serving food, beer and wine, etc. Once that is secured they will tackle the Feds which has a hefty application fee for the brewery. They want to know the town will say “OK” before going down the road with becoming a federally approved brewery. Look for them to open Junish if LV give the nod. Then they will ask customers about beer prefernces, tastes, desires and fit the brew to the crew.
And, Dr. Briggs of Grandote was all over town several days this week. No word.
