The predawn in Cuchara was tranquil and peaceful this morning. This moonset photo displays the moisture in the air that will likely bring some more snows today and in to tomorrow. This moon will ripen to its official “full” status at 9:48 MST this morning, so this for all practical purposes, this was the last visible view of the full moon in Cuchara. This is also know as the “Snow Moon.”
My apologies for the eratic postings and the few missed ones this past two weeks. I have been attending to my mother and supporting my father, as mom had been hospitalized two weeks ago and underwent an aortic valve replacement at University of KS Med Center in KC and has been working through a slow recovery. Those so disposed are asked to place mom & dad in your prayers, as we can sure use that support. I have been blessed with the most wonderful parents one could have. They had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with us this August, dancing up a storm at TheĀ TimbersĀ on their date.
Here is an interesting link about a book signing next Saturday. It features area authors, including La Veta resident Ben Zeller. Subjects are all pretty much linked to the region. Those in the area may want to trip to Pueblo for this event. Go here to see The Pueblo Chieftain article: http://www.chieftain.com/articles/2010/02/28/life/local/doc4b8869baf0c1b488914345.txt
Some great snowshoeing and cross-country skiing opportunities abound in the area or some snowmobile runs up to Bear and BLue Lakes are possible, too.
