Highly varied amounts of precipitation fell across the La Veta and Cuchara areas on Sunday. A large cell moved across the Cuchara Valley area, providing some rain, hail and wind. As the movement was northwest to southeast, some areas came out better in the precip department than others. Nice change, however, from the extended dry period in late July and August. What we don’t need is dry lightning, though.

Folks are beginning to leave for the season. It is apparent.
