A classic ‘upslope’ snow hit Huerfano County last night as winds and moisture rolled down from the north-northeast. It started snowing about 5:30 and by 9:30 PM Cuchara had picked up 3 inches. It kept rolling and by 5:30 in the morning Cuchara had recieved 8 inches, and the moonlight shone on the new fallen snow. This brings Cuchara’s YTD to 119 inches. 5:30 AM temps in Cuchara -5.

The snows were generally dispersed in the area as by 10:30 PM Walsenburg had reported 3 inches of snow. No morning totals were available for La Veta or Walsenburg.
