It’s Beary Active
In the past two days we have had?Ǭ†numerous daytime visits by three different bears. A very large cinnamon, a moderate black and a small, younger cinnamon. The large one spent about an hour around the front yard, interested in the trash cart that Pueblo Disposal had been late by over a day picking up. Yesterday the small cinnamon came to the back glass door and looked in to see if breakfast was ready or if the coffee had cream and sugar in it. And already this morning the bear attacked the garbage (Pueblo Disposal still hasn’t picked up…Tuesday is trash day) and found some scraps.
The berries and wild apples are just now starting to fruit and of course the wild acorns are quite some time off and we’re seeing the recovery of our bear friends since the bad loss in the drought year of 2002. Remember, we’re just “renting” this land…they own it. So, remove your temptations, keep your cars free of food and leftover drinks or dry dogfood in the?Ǭ†trunks, be firm when ’shooing them’ and keep them safe. Buy an air horn or other loud ‘remover’ and get them moving. We don’t want to see them tagged and taken.?Ǭ†
